If the Lord is with us
The midianites and the amalekites
Came to oppress the people of God
The Israelites were hiding in caves
For they had no strength to face the enemies
Then they cried out to the Lord
Whom sent His angel
To Speak to Gideon: ‘the Lord is with you.’
But if the Lord is with us,
Why has all this happened?
Where are all His wonders?
Gideon replied.
If the Lord is with us
Why has all this happened?
Where is His power
To set us free
Then God said: ‘Go in this strength !
Mighty warrior, for I am with you.
And with three hundred men I’ve chosen
I’ll give you the victory,
So go! And don’t be afraid.
