were used in
biblical times? Yes, today we will learn about
a brave king who
used many instruments
to compose songs and
prayers that are here in the Bible (show the Bible). Let’s find out who is this man?
Then let’s pay attention, I'm going to start”.
KNOWING PSALM’S
BOOK
FRIENDS, THE Bible is a very special book, isn’t it? And today you will learn about another
book of poetry, the second poetry book of the Bible, the Book of Psalms.
Psalms is a book well known and easy to be found, it
is in the middle of the Bible. Many people, even those who don’t have the habit
of reading the Bible, they usually have at home a painting or an object with
Psalm 23. Do you know it? (Wait for their participation). It says "The
Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want".
The book of Psalms took hundreds of years to be ready,
a very long time. They also say that the Psalms were used as music in the Bible
times, and today many are used in forms of songs.
One of the leaders of David's choir was called Asaph
and Korah belonged to a family of official musician’s, and they also wrote some
Psalms. But most of the Psalms were written by David. They were known as the
psalmist and used various musical instruments to praise God.
David had a kind heart, always respected God and praises
Him with great joy. Do you know what the greatest pleasure of David was, kids?
Go to the house of God and sing praises to exalt Him.
Before being a king, David was a simple shepherd of
his father. He took care of each one of them with much love, that’s why God
chose him to be the king of Israel. Only someone very special could write a
book so beautiful and blessed ... isn’t it kids?
CONCLUSION
Pals, reading the Psalms we learn to praise God that
He deserves the worship. We must praise God as David did with joy and much
pleasure. Let’s worship God singing Psalm 100? (Educator, sing with the class
and then make a prayer with them).

FUN
CHAT
Educator, take pictures from these items: cassette tape and vinyl
records. Take a DVD, CD and a hymnal of the UCKG and the Bible.
Start by saying: "When we heard the music of a
particular singer or group, we purchased their CD or DVD, right? Who of here
has CDs or DVDs at home? (Wait for their participation). A few years ago it was
very different, as the current CDs and DVDs (show them) didn’t exist. There
were only (show pictures) cassette tapes and vinyl records.
In the hymnal (show them) there are several songs, and
they are all praises to glorify God. When we praise whole-hearted, we receive
God's presence. Through the music we express what we are feeling, and there are
some songs that are true prayers to God. As we learned today, the Bible (show
it) also has his music book, the book of Psalms, we must meditate on it
constantly, as the Psalms teach us to worship God as He deserves to be
worshiped”.
Conclude the discussion by asking the following
questions:
1. Who likes to sing?
2. What kind of music do you sing?
3. What is the music of Jesus that you most like to sing?
4. Do you like to sing for Jesus?
5. In your opinion, it is important to worship God?
