Sometimes people think that children do not notice what they are doing and we make a mistake when we think like that, they are clever, then they copy everything so we must be good examples.
I totally agree with you Silimara, children do notice what happens around them, and this is how may times some start acting in way which is the oppoisitte of what we expect them to be, they are indeed very smart, I mean looking at my brother for example he is just 9 years old but before he reach this age by seeing what happened around him he start acting very mature and smart already. And it is very important for them to be surround by people who will set a good example for them. This why I truly believe the CBC is so important for us to give them that.xx
Children are the greatest imitators...i believe that if you start early enough say 2years old. Every value you want to teach a child through the demonstration of your own actions they will pick up.
We at times do not give children enough credit and you know what they pick up everything.
I have noticed children who come into CBC and it is evident from their behavior or the way they speak to other children or even to teachers that it is possibly an evidence of what is happening at home (and we cannot be afraid to confront these things and help the parent/s or the family)...and they can be as young as 3 years old.
Why is that? because sometimes Children are the window to the home environment. Parents or adults may mask or refuse to be sincere but a child can actually be the'gateway' to receive help.
I am not saying that as parents/ guardians and teachers/helpers we have to be perfect but we have to understand that we have an impact on those little souls and we must recognise this responsibility esp in the house of God!
