We hope they are having a good time while learning the word of God!

Now it's your turn! Record a Story Time video at your local CBC with the lesson of the week and send it to us. The best ones will be published on the blog.

Remember to keep it short, simple and clear.

Good Story Time to all of us!

TFT meeting 6

6th Meeting

Biblical Reference:
Psalm 32.5 and Judges 16.23-31

Purpose of the meeting:
Teach teenagers that God forgives our sins when we tell Him.

Key verse:
“Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity (…) and You forgave…” (Psalm 32.5)

Initiating the meeting:
Start by saying: teenagers, when we make a mistake against someone we must ask for forgiveness, right? Through today’s message we will learn that, when we recognize our mistakes before God and abandon it, we are forgiven. (Start the message)

Message that edifies:

Confessing the sin
Sin can show itself apparently fun and even bring a momentary satisfaction; it appears to be not so bad as they say, but all of it is an illusion. The bible says that sin deceives and destroys and it was exactly what happened to Samson. He was seduced by sin that deceived and destroyed him. The great and strong Samson was defeated by the pleasures of the flesh.
The Philistines gathered to worship the false God Dagon and took Samson to entertain them. And there he was, slaughtered, humiliated, weak, and blind, without the presence of the Spirit of God, because from the moment he broke his vow with God.
From that moment Samson could feel the terrible pain that sin brings, feeling like the worst men of all. He realized from that moment how much he was suffering being away from God. He felt the pain of despising the things of God trading it for fleeting pleasures. It all could be avoided if Samson had not lured by the wrong things that made him sin against God. Remember teenagers! You are special; your eternal salvation is your greatest asset. Do not change it by futile and vain things.
While everyone laughed and made fun of Samson, he regretted from the bottom of his heart all the sins he had committed, and cried out to God to once again having the chance to defeat his enemies; God who is infinitely merciful, heard Samson cry out with all his heart, the Spirit of the Lord filled Samson once again with an extraordinary and supernatural strength, and placing himself between the columns that supported the temple, destroyed and put everything down, killing so much more enemies that day than he did before.
Imagine how much Samson wished to go back and do everything correctly according to the will of God? You, young people, have at this moment the opportunity to do what is right, do not get involved with the things of the world. In the past, God separated the Jewish people from the others just not to be contaminated and today we, Christians, are the Israel of God and we must keep ourselves pure and separated to Him.

Conclusion:
The fact that Samson had confessed his sins caused God to forgive him: “Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity (…) and you forgave…”(Psalm 32.5).  Young people, when true repentance happens, you confess the sin without fear and Divine forgiveness is for sure! Meditate on the verse above and don’t let sin and bad attitudes move you away from God. Ask to the Lord Jesus strength to win the evil and confess your mistakes.

BIBLICAL REFERENCE
Psalms 18.10

MEMORIZE THE VERSE:
"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe". (Proverbs 18.10)

● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ●

Class: 2-3 year olds

INTRODUCTION

Educator, search for images of ancient castles on the internet. Present the images to the children and say: In the past the kings built castles and had large armies to defend themselves against enemies. Today we will learn that God is the only one who can protect us from all evil. Are we going to pay attention today?

GOD PROTECTOR

KIDS ... WHO ENJOYS when mummy and daddy are around, you have family time, play and laugh together, with plenty of hugs and kisses from those who love you? (Wait for their participation.) Your parent or the person who cares for you, protects you and teaches you with all their love .. Isn’t that right? However, they cannot be near you all the time... isn’t it?
The Bible teaches us that Jesus is close to us in every minute. He protects us even when we are sleeping. He is watching over us (put your hands together next to the face and make an expression of sleeping). Kids, but only those who have the Lord Jesus in their hearts and does His will are protected. He keeps in security those who love Him. In the Bible there is the story of Daniel, a bright young man who was very obedient to God. Because he was so special, he was chosen to serve a king, but some evil men were jealous of Daniel and they would make anything to punish him. But God protected Daniel and didn’t allow him to suffer any harm.

CONCLUSION

Little friends, God protected Daniel and protects those who are obedient to Him and good, God is ready to protect us from all dangers. Amen!

ACTIVITIES

Drawing. Draw you and your mom, dad or the person you love.

Secret friend. Educator, prepare a few little bags with chewy candy or other treats. You must have enough bags for the whole class. Write the name of each child in on sticker and stick it to a bag. Distribute the bag among the children, but notice that the child MUST NOT take the bag with their names on it.Start by saying this: we have heard that the bad guys did everything to harm Daniel, but we love our friends... isn’t it? And so now, you have to give this gift for them... Got it? So, now, you will give the bag you received to your friend... (read the name written on the bag). Don't forget to give him or her a hug! The child that last received the bag will be the next to deliver the bag.  At the end conclude by saying: See, Jesus is pleased when we are kind to our friends and when we do good.

Whenever you are in trouble, talk to God. He is your friend!

INTRODUCTION

Educator, search for images of ancient castles on the internet. Present the images to the children and say: In the past the kings built castles and had large armies to defend themselves against enemy attacks.
Continue explaining that until the present day, nations need to be protected and free people of war and evil. The Bible teaches us that who wants the security and protection must trust and fear God. Do you want to know how? Let’s learn in today's story. Start your study!

PROTECTED BY GOD

FRIENDS, WHEN something happens that leaves you scared or sad, don’t you want to be close to your father and your mother, well protected, right? At this point, what you do? (Wait for their participation). Daddy and Mommy always want to protect and guide their children. But, even if they wanted to, they cannot be the whole time with you. Isn't it true?
The Bible teaches us that only God can be with us at all times and with God, we are always safe. He protects us even when we sleep, "God is our refuge and strength ..." (Psalm 46.1)
Children, only those who fear and practice the Word of God will be protected; the Lord Jesus will save those who are faithful. The Bible speaks of servants of God who were examples of fidelity and demonstrates how they were protected in danger. Among them there was Daniel. Let’s learn more about the deliverance he received from God? Let’s pay attention.

Daniel was a young man faithful to God. Because of his intelligence, he was one of those chosen to serve the king Darius. Daniel stood out among all princes, so the king intended to give him authority over the entire kingdom. Children, the envy was so among the princes and governors who sought a way to harm Daniel, but he was faithful, and they didn’t find anything against him. Until one day they convinced the king to establish the following law: "For thirty days, no one is allowed to pray to any god or any man, except for the King Darius. However disobey this will be thrown in the lions den." This was the only reason to harm Daniel who was a faithful servant, who used to pray to God 3 times a day.

The envious princes and governors found Daniel praying and saw him sentenced. The king was very sad, but he couldn't go back to his word: it was the law. Daniel was thrown into the lions den. Very sad, the King couldn’t sleep thinking about Daniel and how God would get rid of the lions.
Bright and early, Darius the king went to the cave and found Daniel alive, he said: "O my God sent his angel, and shut the lion's mouths ..." (Daniel 6.22). King Darius was amazed with the deliverance of God and commanded to write a new edict, announcing that in his entire kingdom, people should worship only the God of Daniel, because he saves and operates signs wonders in heaven and earth.

CONCLUSION

Just as God protected Daniel in the past, He will protect those who believe, fear and seek Him wholeheartedly. Little friends, God is always ready to protect us from the dangers of all evil. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. " (Psalm 46.1).

TFT meeting 5

5th Meeting

Biblical Reference:
Psalm 51.3 and Judges 13 to 16

Purpose of the meeting:
Teach teenagers that sin keeps us away from God.

Key verse:
"For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me." (Psalm 51.3)

Initiating the meeting:
Start by asking: in your opinion, how may a parent feel knowing that his son, whom he advised so much, is taking the wrong attitudes that may affect his future? (Allow the children to participate). He will be very disappointed, right? We will learn today an example of a biblical young man that had everything to have a promising future, but he decided to follow the desires of his heart. (Begin the message).

Message that edifies:

The consequences of sin

During forty years the people of Israel lived away from God.  Because they did what was wrong, they suffered persecution from the Philistines. One day, an Angel from God appeared to a sterile woman, the wife of Manoah. The angel announced that she would have a Nazarene son, consecrated to the Lord from her womb and he would never cut his hair. He should keep himself pure because he was chosen by God to free his people. The child was born and was called Samson. He became a young man and had extraordinary physical strength (supernatural). Through the years he started to free his people from the hands of the Philistines becoming judge for the people of God.
Manoah, Samson’s father, always advised him to choose a wife from among the youth of his people, but as young people have desires that in most cases become a trap to distract them from God, Samson was also delivered to these feelings. Young people, we who know Jesus understand that everything we want or wish for something, it must be according to God’s will. Samson was a youth from God but he needed to leave his own will and avoid the aspect of evil.
The Philistines were looking for a way to kill him and to defeat the Israelites. To the unhappiness of all, the Philistines discovered that Samson was in love with a Philistine woman called Delilah. Samson couldn’t imagine the danger he was in, for that seductive ad beautiful woman had received a lot of money to discover where his strength was.
Samson distracted Delilah three times with false clues regarding his strength but she didn’t give up and kept insisting. Samson didn’t resist and revealed the secret of his strength. Samson was seduced and deceived thereby breaking his vow to God. Delilah, knowing about the true secret of Samson, told to his enemies immediately and they did what they were trying to do in a long time. The Philistines cut his hair while he was sleeping and his supernatural strength (divine) left him at that moment. Weak, defeated and without any strength, the Philistines made Samson a slave and even hurt his eyes.

Conclusion:
Many things in this world today want us to break our vow with God, leaving us weak and without strength against sin; they want to damage our spiritual eyes so we cannot have God’s vision, but be slaves. Maybe you are thinking to yourself: I have done lots of wrong things and nothing bad happens to me; but continuing in this way will lead you to not so good places; escape from mistakes before it is too late. “Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour…” (1 Peter 5.8). Think about it!

 Activity for the 5th Meeting

Reflecting

1- Samson had a weakness; he was always carried away by the feelings of the heart and the lust of the eyes. What are your weakness? What has been catching your eye? Report below.

2-Read carefully Judges 16.4 and imagine yourself in Samson’s place, then write down what would you do if you were him.
