TFteen Lesson

Lesson for 25th to 31st March 2012

Bible Verse:
Colossians 3:20
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

Purpose of Meeting:
Teach the teens that we should honour our parent’s daily

Initiating the meeting:
Start the lesson by asking the teens about what they did for their mums/parents on Mothers day. Allow them to share their experiences. Ask the teens how their mothers felt last Sunday, were they happy, grateful?

Message that edifies:

Read the first Bible verse for this lesson with the teens.

God was very happy with us last week for pleasing our Mums and making them happy. But what is the point of treating our parents well just once a year?
Though we do not have to weekly buy our parents gifts and make cards etc., we can honour them in a much more special way; by obeying them, respecting them, helping out at home, doing well in School etc.

From now on, we are going to strive more to please our parents. Not just on special occasions, as everyday counts for a Christian teen, everyday we must live in faith and obedience to Gods word!

Conclusion:

God wants us to obey, honour love and respect our parents. When they teach us something good and helpful, God is using them to make us better people.

Activity

Invite the teens to write a pledge of all the ways they will start to honor, love and respect their parents more.
