Lesson from 5th to 11th of August REAL OLIMPICS CHAMPIONS

REAL OLIMPICS CHAMPIONS

BIBLICAL REFERENCE FOR BIBLICAL EDUCATORS
(1 Corinthians 9:24-27)
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27)

MEMORIZE THE VERSE
Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27)

INTRODUCTION
Start to ask the children if they know what the difference between perishable and imperishable is ( let them give their opinions) then you can explain that perishable is something that sooner or later will finish, but imperishable is something indestructible, it will last forever, can you imagine?

RUN FOR AN IMPERISHABLE CROWN
``READY, SET, GO!’’ Mariana started to run and run, she was doing a really good job, she passed John, she was so happy that she can felt her heart coming out of her chest, ‘I just have one more in front of me to win the gold medal’ she thought, but the unthinkable happened, she slipped on a leaf and fell, but even though she saw the other runners passing by her, she still managed to stand up and walk till the finish line.

 CONCLUSION
To win a perishable crown you have to win in first place, but to win an imperishable crown you must finish the race.
God is the only one who can give you an imperishable crown, as God said “Be faithful till the end and I’ll give you the crown of life.”  Revelation 2:10, sometimes things happen that you are not expecting  that makes you slow down or even fall, but a champion is someone who stands up and continues till they reach the finish line.

 FUN CHAT
Biblical Educator, before the lesson you can colour 3 medals that we prepared for the activities and each medal must be coloured in a different colour, gold, silver and bronze. Show it to them and ask:
 Why are they different?
What does each colour mean?
Explain to them that the first three runners that finish the race get a medal, but the first one gets the gold, the second one gets the silver and the third on gets the bronze.  The first one was more prepared than the second and the third, he trained more, he gave more of him to this competition, the same in our faith, the more you give yourself to God and be involved in the things of God, the more close you are to God. So be the NUMBER 1, Finishing the Race!

ACTIVITIES
(Copy & paste the images to a word document and make them larger before printing.)
-Colour the medal (Gold, Silver or Bronze) which is yours? Write on your medal “I’m a champion”
-Colour the torch, remember the fire needs to be on, same thing in our lives, the fire of the Holy Spirit needs to be on.
-Cut and decorate your crown, make it beautiful.
